Timber Frame Cathedral Ceiling

Engineered Beams & Timbers

Our kiln-dried engineered beams and timbers offer a superior product at a great price. These timbers are created by taking individual boards and laminating them together in a radio frequency dryer to create a complete timber. These timbers are then cut and milled to the specifications for your home. This process results in the most stable, virtually check free, high-grade timber available in the market. We are very proud to offer this high quality and truly unique product.

Kiln-Dried Traditional Timbers

Many manufacturers claim to offer kiln-dried products, but few of them meet the specifications that Timberhaven requires. Our Kiln-Dried Traditional Timbers are required to undergo a closely-monitored drying process during which large amounts of water are removed from the wood. Kiln-drying also sanitizes the timbers by killing off insects and larvae which burrow into the wood. This process minimizes future problems that can arise from timbers slowly drying over time – shrinking, cracking, warping, and twisting – which is important because of the tight specifications to which the home is built.

My Extraordinary Timberhaven Log Home

Words cannot describe what an extraordinary Timberhaven log home I have!  It is a Modified Aspen Hill built with Timberhaven’s 6×8 Engineered Logs with the Dovetail corner assembly.  My log home is 2,180 square feet and features 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths.  A small mudroom connects my lovely log home to the 2-car attached garage.  And in the basement, where my 10 parrots now reside, there is an additional kitchen, bathroom with walk-in-shower, and media room.  My Timberhaven log home was completed in October 2018, and I moved in shortly thereafter.  David Calder, my builder and master craftsman, did an incredible job on the construction of my dream log home.

As with all new construction, there were a few minor hiccups and a lot of rain delays. But, being patient paid off. I am in my new Timberhaven log home now, feeling very happy, safe and secure.  Enjoying my morning coffee in the gorgeous sun room or outside under the covered front porch, watching the sunrise over the mountains is a great way to start the day. The flexibility that Timberhaven had given me with the design, made this the perfect log home to enjoy my ‘retirement’ years.

I highly recommend Timberhaven Log & Timber Homes as the designer and manufacturer for your dream log home.  I also highly recommend David Calder if you’re considering building in the vicinity of Southeast Tennessee.  Log homes are these folks’ passion, and I know they would just love to supply/build a log home for you, too.  I am the second person in our small community to have one of Timberhaven’s beautiful log homes and couldn’t be more proud.
